Overview

Structure
The walking gearbox housing usually adopts a box-type structure, and its internal installation is equipped with moving parts such as gears and bearings. The main structure of the shell includes the bottom, top, side and front and rear end covers. Among them, the bottom is used to support the entire gear box, and the top is designed with ventilation holes and observation holes to observe the gear running state and detect the internal pressure. The side and front and rear end covers play a sealing role to ensure that the gear oil will not leak.
Function
The traveling gearbox housing plays an important role in mechanical equipment, and its main functions include:

Commonly used materials include cast iron, cast steel, aluminum alloy, etc. Cast iron has good casting performance and wear resistance, and is suitable for large gearboxes; cast steel has high strength and toughness, and is suitable for gearboxes that bear large loads; aluminum alloy has the advantages of light weight and good heat dissipation. Suitable for some special occasions.
Manufacturing process
The manufacturing process of the walking gearbox shell mainly includes casting, welding, machining and so on. Casting is a commonly used manufacturing method, through the casting process can produce complex shell structure; welding process is mainly used for the manufacture of some special structures, such as aluminum alloy shell welding; machining is used to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the shell.
